    101 things about me

    So everyone seems to have their "101 things about me" list.  I've been avoiding writing one up because I figured it would take me way too long to think up 101 things about myself.  But it wasn't that hard.  I got stuck about halfway through but then it was all downhill from there.  So...lucky you...you get to read it today (or not, that's fine too lol).

    1. I was born in February
    2. My favorite color has always been purple.
    3. I like blue too, it’s a close second
    4. I am married to a wonderful man
    5. We don’t have any kids…yet
    6. We really want kids
    7. My biological clock ticks louder every day
    8. I work from home teaching Piano, Flute and Clarinet lessons
    9. I believe my musical talent is a God-given talent and I try to use that talent as often as I can to bring glory to Him.
    10. I love Jesus!
    11. My grandparents raised me
    12. My grandmother (aka mom) passed away when I was 19
    13. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with, to date.
    14. I know she’s in Heaven
    15. My grandfather (aka dad) has a motorcycle and rides it all over town
    16. I have one younger brother, who did not live with me while I was growing up
    17. He’s a good kid
    18. I like to read
    19. I like to crochet
    20. …and quilt
    21. …and I’m trying to learn to knit, so I don’t quite love that yet
    22. I’m learning to play the trumpet
    23. Playing the trumpet is hard
    24. Turns out I don’t have enough “hot air” in me after all!
    25. We used to live in St. Louis
    26. My hubby proposed to me at the top of the Arch
    27. He still gets brownie points for that
    28. I’m not very good at returning phone calls
    29. I’m better about emailing
    30. I love my email
    31. One might say I’m a wee bit addicted (ask my husband)
    32. My favorite junk food is anything chocolate
    33. I’m terrified of tornadoes
    34. I have nightmares about tornadoes every so often.
    35. I was in a tornado once.
    36. It touched down across the street, skipped up over our house and hit the house behind us.
    37. We were without power for 2 days, since the utility pole was laying across our street. 
    38. 100 year old trees were ripped out of the ground by their roots and looked like someone had just laid them down in the yard.
    39. That tornado was the loudest sound I have ever heard in all my life.
    40. I am the social director for our Sunday school class – my friend Jessi is too.
    41. Seth and I love the church we go to.
    42. It took us a long time to find a church we liked.
    43. We kept skipping over this one because it was “too big” and I’ve had bad experiences with big churches before.
    44. We finally decided to go one Sunday, and have been going there ever since
    45. We’re going to join there soon
    46. It’s close to our house now, but they’re building a new building that won’t be so close when they’re done
    47. That’s ok, we’ll still go there.
    48. I’m not very good at keeping up with current events
    49. I don’t like to watch the news. 
    50. I’m really bad at keeping all the political mumbo jumbo straight.
    51. I’m pretty bad at geography too – don’t ask me where all those little underdeveloped countries are located.  I don’t have the first clue.
    52. I feel like as Americans, we are really fortunate.  Especially women.
    53. I feel like as Americans, we are really oblivious.
    54. I feel like as Americans, we are really arrogant.
    55. But I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.  Go figure.
    56. I drink Diet Dr Pepper every day for breakfast.  It’s my coffee.
    57. I am 110% addicted to caffeine.
    58. If I don’t drink it, I have a horrible headache
    59. Yes, I know this is not a good thing.
    60. I am too weak to avoid it.
    61. I’m having a hard time trying to think up 40 more things to put on this list.
    62. I’ve never gotten a ticket.  For anything.
    63. It’s really just truly a miracle that I haven’t.
    64. I’m not the best driver.
    65. Sometimes I forget to wear my seatbelt.
    66. Sometimes I speed.
    67. Sometimes I have some serious road rage.
    68. People in this town drive like morons.
    69. Hence the road rage.
    70. But my husband is worse.
    71. I love Chinese food
    72. My favorite is Sesame Chicken
    73. I do not like seafood and I don’t eat it.  Period.
    74. My favorite ice cream is an M&M blizzard from DQ
    75. I like double stuff oreos
    76. My favorite holiday is Easter
    77. I’d rather eat off of paper plates and use plastic cups than have to wash a dish
    78. I love to watch HGtv.
    79. My favorite show on there is House Hunters
    80. We bought our very first house in August 2004
    81. The previous owners did some crazy things that I’m always finding every now and then – still.
    82. We’ve lived in this town for 2 years
    83. I love it here
    84. It feels like home
    85. I have made 2 very good girlfriends from our church
    86. Their names are Jessi and Hope
    87. They might as well be my sisters.
    88. It’s funny, we lived in St Louis for 6 years and I didn’t have friends like these 2. 
    89. I didn’t have many friends there at all.
    90. I was kind of lonely
    91. It was just us, hubby’s 2 sisters, their husbands and kids
    92. I never really invested in any friendships there.
    93. That baffles me a bit, because I’m a very social person – usually.
    94. I miss St. Louis – being in the city
    95. I have 7 nieces and nephews (Seth’s 2 sister’s kids combined)
    96. They both say that they are DONE and it’s now my turn  lol
    97. Seth’s mom can’t wait till we have kids
    98. She thinks she’s going to get a red headed grandchild, since Seth has RED hair and I’m auburn
    99. Our kid doesn’t have a chance of not being fair skinned and freckled
    100. I can’t wait to have a family, even though I am scared to death of childbirth.
    101. I try to remember to put everything and every situation in God’s hands.  After all, if it’s not His Will, then I don’t want it.

    I'm so glad I got to read more about you in your 101.  I thought I'd have a hard time too but it really wasn't so hard.  Everything kind of snowballed one from another.
     
    I also like these because you get to see what you have in common with others.  Like you, I love double stuff oreos, am not good at returning phone calls and seriously prefer email, and don't enjoy seafood but really like Sesame Chicken.  Yeah!  It is so fun to discover!  See you again soon.

    You are so funny. :) I love you 101 list. I love most everyone's 101 but yours was kind of inspiring. I'm in such a writer's block right now and maybe this would be a fun thing to blog about. Thank you for sharing.

    oh this is hysterical!  I love your sense of humor AND I'm in disbelief (I actually DO believe you) that you've NEVER gotten a ticket!  WOW!  I'm impressed!  Thanks for sharing so much about YOU!  I love it!

    Great list! I have to argue that Reese Blizzards are much better than M&M's, and that Grey's Anatomy is the best show on TV, but other than those two, you sound a lot like me!

    Hello again! This was a very good list. What were you worried about? Some people don't like them, but I have found that people get more honest about the list once they get towards the end.
